Poetry

I don't think I have ever truly bolstered how much I really really love reading poetry, and sometimes (attempting) writing it!
I think that my favorite literary/writing technique that poets do is use parentheses
(they just make everything seem so much more poetic).
Now, this technique is used by both of my two favorite poets, which is no surprise, since they are my favorites!
Here, for instance, is my favorite E.E. Cummings Poem:

And also, here is one of my very very very very favorite poems of all time, by no other than the legendary (yet tragic figure) Sylvia Plath, entitled "Mad Girl's Love Song":

Parentheses add an interesting effect, do they not? I noticed I've been using them a lot more often in my school essays. I wish I was deep enough the analyze their function.
I wish I was a poet. I’m gonna become one.
I write some poems here and there (yes I used parentheses), but they don't usually rhyme. Here's a poetic-type verse I once wrote, it's vague enough:

One day I'll scan some more pages from this same notebook. It's where I write my most interesting life stories /day-to-day thoughts in the most ambiguous ways possible--usually accompanied by an illustration, but not in this one.

I have not posted in a while--updateupdate!

So here's a little update of I few things I've been very inspired by lately!

Pastel colors. This image makes my mouth water in inspiration.

This color, particularly, and various shades of it. It could be because of the lovely weather that I adore such lovely, pastel color, but really I think it's because this color resembles a lighter tone of skin. Maybe like blushed cheeks. Which leads me in to another subject of inspiration...

(This gif makes me feel sexy. Has anyone ever read Catcher in the Rye? Remember how he said that he was "...starting to feel sexy as hell"? That's me right now as I watch this gif hahaha.)

Skin and bones (not necessarily in black and white, but I do tend to adore the simplicity of black and white photos more than other types of photos). I have always been inspired by skin and body and bones, and I thought I should elucidate that in this post. One day, when I live with a significant other, I plan on wearing clothing as rarely as possible. Nudity is bliss. That's all, simple as that.

This next item of inspiration may seem ironic juxtaposed with the previous one, but I also absolutely love some of the tattoos I see all over the internet. Some people may believe tattoos ruin skin, but I don't think that's true, especially if they are thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing tattoos, in which case, they seem to be the most ideal form of self-expression and, by all means, a form of art. Here are some of my favorites:
(no past, no future--in Russian, which was technically my first language)

to me, this seems like great words of inspiration to see on a daily basis.

I love how intricate this flower is, and how the artist of this most likely put his own creative touch on it. Very unique. I don't typically like big tattoos, and I probably would not get this, but I love love love looking at it.

I actually would consider getting a moon tattoo.

I've always loved eyes....unconditionally.

the Golden Ratio. the most divine law of mathematics.... perfection
And I am also obsessed with theYin Yang sign.

And finally... I've been really inspired by listening to really good, upbeat music! I love all different types of music characterised by disparate types of moods, but some songs that really make me feel good include:
- Lights - Ellie Goulding
- How Deep is Your Love? - The Rapture
- Champagne Coast - Blood Orange
- See the Sun (Alternative Version!) - The Kooks
- Talamak - Toro y Moi
- Heartbeat - Childish Gambino
- Share With Me The Sun - Portugal. The Man.
- State of the Art - Gotye
- Volare - Dean Martin (Fantastic Italian song. I love all things Italian.)
- anything and everything by Foster the People makes me feel good...
- and same goes for anything by Shlohmo

These songs clearly correlate with summer for me. Feeling good goes together well with summer. Just a few more months!

P.S. I really want a hat that makes me look G like this:
